11 great apps for the mobile sales force

describe the imageWhile most of the reps I train in my inside sales training courses make calls from their desks, a number of them are beginning to take on hybrid roles, where they also spend part of their time on the road. And more and more, they’re making use of their mobile devices in the sales process. Lauren Carlson of Software Advice sent out a terrific blog post to me last week, detailing her eleven favorite mobile sales apps, and it’s a compelling post.

As Lauren writes, “Sales has become an increasingly mobile role. When these professionals are on the go, they need immediate access to important information such as new leads, contact information and pipeline progress. Fortunately, mobile app vendors have developed in full force, creating tons of awesome apps to help sales people stay connected.” Her favorites include apps for different things like collaboration, presentations, day-to-day activities and general CRM.

If you’re part of the mobile sales force, take a look at her blog post on mobile sales apps, and you might find something there that could help you to be more productive when you’re working out of the office.

And if you have a favorite mobile sales app that she doesn’t list, tell us about it!

Another app to recommend is Evernote

It allows you to type a text note, clip a web page, grab a screenshot, or use a photo. Then you can organize it with tags to make it easy to find.

This makes it easy to put down a thought or an idea, a snap of something you want to remember for later, notes from a meeting, or an easy way to make a clip file.
